Blackwell Reach was designed by Ambient Designs (formerly Shoreline Designs) and constructed by Swell Homes in 2013. We took a 1950’s home which had no sustainability credentials and limited space, and converted it into a modern home, maximising its passive solar potential and potential living space.
Swell Homes and Ambient Designs made a point of keeping as much of the existing residence as possible, hence keeping the carbon footprint to a minimum.
The total renovation of this home involved every room, and the removal of all windows and door openings. The finished result achieved by Swell Homes has ensured that the house presents in a uniform manner, with no evidence of an extension being performed on the house.
